Capstone Project: Arca
Hi, I’m Aria Delamarter! I am an empathetic, diverse, and abstract thinker who applies these qualities to enrich my design work across physical products, branding, and storytelling. Driven by curiosity, I constantly question the “why,” seeking deeper meaning in the people, places, and experiences around me. With a foundation in fine arts and a disciplined mindset shaped by my service in the Air National Guard, I blend intuition with structure to create thoughtful and emotionally resonant work. My designs often explore identity, memory, and cross-cultural connections, with inspiration drawn from my Japanese heritage.

Arca is a personal storage piece designed to protect, preserve, and carry both practical and sentimental items. Influenced by my nostalgia, Japanese heritage, and the recent Eaton fire tragedies, this project explores the emotional weight objects hold and the need for preparedness. By uniting essentials and keepsakes, it removes the need to choose between what you need and what you love. Blending structured forms with soft, deployable elements, it lives quietly in the home yet is ready to move at a moment’s notice. This piece embodies care, identity, memory, and resilience.
