Women’s Olympics uniforms topic of UO professor’s research

Susan SokolowskiAssociate Professor Susan Sokolowski published an article, “A Visual History of Women’s Olympic Uniforms (1900-2016),” in For Her on August 2. Sokolowski, who teaches in the UO’s sports product design master’s program, documents and discusses changes in clothing worn by female competitors beginning with the first time they were allowed to compete in the games, in Paris in 1900. “Who can forget Flo-Jo’s unitards and flamboyant manicures?” Sokolowski notes.
