Years of independent research and experimentation culminates in this year's MFA Art Exhibition at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (JSMA). The five hardworking Master of Fine Arts (MFA) students will display their work through June i, courtesy of the School of Art + Design Department of Art. The program celebrates the hard work and efforts in the high standard of a museum setting. This year's artist cohort consists of Adam DeSorbo, Xinyu Liu, Kate Montgomery, Jens Pettersen, and Gracie Rothering, who represent a broad range of inquiry in their work representing a diverse range of media and practices, spanning ecology and personal/cultural memory, to the bridge between death and the living world, symbolic institutional gateways, and ideas about abstraction through the materiality of painting. With this MFA exhibition coming to the JSMA, the UO and Eugene community will gain access to the beautiful work created by this particular MFA cohort. After the reception on May 16, the exhibition runs until June 16 and is located in the JSMA at 1430 Johnson Lane, Eugene, OR 97403.
