A book featuring images and the stories of seventy Oregon artists and their studio spaces is now available for purchase at Portland's Monograph Bookwerks and the Hallie Ford Museum of Art.

Connective Conversations | Inside Oregon Art, 2011-2014 is a collaborative work representing the series Connective Conversations, part of The Ford Family Foundation’s Curator and Critic Tours and Lecture Series program, conducted in partnership with A&AA.

The book project brought national curators and critics to visit Oregon artists in their studios across the state to present lectures and participate in community dialogue.

The full-color, 300-page book will be available at the 2015 Oregon Arts Summit’s Visual Arts Ecology workshop in Ashland, Oregon, October 2. The book also can be purchased at Portland’s Monograph Bookwerks and will be available elsewhere soon.

Connective Conversations | Inside Oregon Art was edited by Kate Wagle, former associate dean and director of the UO A&AA in Portland; with design and layout by Pace Taylor, a UO Department of Art Digital Arts Program graduate; and photography by Sabina Poole, an alumnae of the Department of the History of Art and Architecture. Advisers on the project were Carol Dalu and Kandis Brewer Nunn of The Ford Family Foundation.

The book is part of The Ford Family Foundation’s visual arts program, launched in 2010 to honor the interests in the visual arts by the late Mrs. Hallie Ford, a cofounder of The Foundation. Principal goals of the program are to help enhance the quality of artistic endeavor and body of work by Oregon’s most promising visual artists and to improve the state’s visual arts ecology by making strategic investments in visual arts institutions.
