Sylvan Lionni received his BFA from the School of Visual Arts and MFA from the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Bard College. He is represented by Kansas in New York City and Stene Projects in Stockholm, Sweden.

Lionni's work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in the United States and Europe, including MoMA P.S. 1 in New York and The Museum of Modern Art in Vienna, Austria. Lionni has shown his work in numerous other galleries and museums and his work is held in many private and public collections, including the Daimler Collection, Berlin, Germany; General Dynamics, Falls Church, Virginia; and the Johns Hopkins Children¹s Center, Baltimore, Maryland. His work has been widely published including pieces in Artforum, Flash Art, The Washington Post, and Art in America.
