The School of Art + Design is celebrating Associate Professor Rick Silva's recent achievement as one of three recipients of the 2023 Hallie Ford Fellow in Visual Arts. The Hallie Ford Fellowship in Visual Arts is supported by The Ford Family Foundation to honor the late Hallie E. Ford, Foundation co-founder and advocate of the visual arts. The Foundation identifies and awards up to three $35,000 unrestricted fellowships for Oregon visual artists. Each artist chosen for this award has demonstrated a depth of sophisticated practice and potential for significant future accomplishment.

This is Silva's second time receiving a fellowship from the Foundation. Silva's work has been exhibited at institutions including The Centre Pompidou, Paris, France; Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville, AK; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY. He has been featured in Artforum, Wired, and Rhizome’s Net Art Anthology.
